The Fight for Health Freedom

Has Never Been More Urgent

For decades Julian Whitaker, MD challenged the medical establishment, demanding transparency, innovation and the right for patients to choose their own path to healing. A Dangerous Man uncovers the untold story of how one physician’s bold stand reshaped the conversation on alternative medicine and why that fight is far from over.

ABOUT THE FILM

In a time when medical narratives are increasingly controlled, A Dangerous Man takes viewers deep inside the battle for health freedom, from the rise of integrative medicine in the 1970s to the modern suppression of scientific dialogue about natural therapies.

Through exclusive interviews, archival footage and newly unearthed documents, filmmaker Kevin Miller paints an unflinching portrait of Julian Whitaker, MD, a pioneer whose advocacy for alternative approaches made him both a hero to millions and a target of powerful institutions.

This feature-length documentary explores the evolution of America’s alternative medicine movement, where it began, the breakthroughs it achieved and the mounting pressure it now faces.

ABOUT JULIAN WHITAKER, MD

“The most powerful and effective voice in fighting for health freedom.” — Kevin Miller, Director

A graduate of Dartmouth College and Emory University Medical School, Julian Whitaker, MD became one of the most outspoken advocates for integrative healthcare in the United States. In 1979 he founded the Whitaker Wellness Institute, which grew to become one of the nation’s largest and most respected alternative medical clinics.

His monthly newsletter, Health & Healing, reached over 3.5 million households, spreading awareness about nutrition, prevention and the politics of medicine. Through 14 published books, countless lectures and decades of patient care, Julian Whitaker, MD’s voice has inspired generations to think critically about what true wellness means.

Even after his retirement from active practice in 2018, his influence continues through the Freedom of Health Foundation, which he founded to champion patients’ rights and the open exchange of medical knowledge.

WHY THIS FILM MATTERS

The progress made over the past half-century in natural and integrative medicine is now under unprecedented scrutiny. As regulations tighten and censorship expands, the public’s access to critical information and their freedom to choose how they heal hang in the balance.

A Dangerous Man asks the hard questions:

  • Who decides what treatments are “acceptable”?

  • What happens when science challenges profit?

  • How far would you go to defend your right to health freedom?
